Blank dash & Synch touchscreen

Featured Replies

Hi All

New to forum. Wanted to post this just in case anyone else has this problem in future. My Mondeo mk5 failed on me other day with weird problem.

Whilst driving Sync touchscreen displayed “Power Saving Mode” then screen shuts off, dashboard shuts off, engine still running. I pulled over, switched off using stop/start button. Car would not restart. Green light on Stop/start button flashing. Exterior lights work, electronic handbrake works but nothing else? AA could not fix. Recovered the car to home. I decided to carry out checks myself starting with fuses.

Found 7.5 amp located Passenger Compartment Fuse Panel, location 13 (Steering Wheel Column, Instrument Cluster, Data Link) has blown. Replaced and car fired straight up! 😀

Car has been perfect since! Not sure if this is random but wanted to post just in case anyone has the same issue.

Thanks for reading

Andy

Andy are you a member of the Mondeo Mk5 UK Facebook group? This information would be really good to share on there. If you aren't a member and would like to be then please let me know so I can send you the information to join 😁

Hello

Thank you for your reply.

I'm one of those people that doesn’t have a Facebook account.  (Yes there are one or two of us out there😁).

I would be happy for anyone on the Mk5 Facebook page to share my post with my blessing. If it saves fellow Mk5 owners the expense of costly repairs for what is a 30p fix I’d be ecstatic! 😆
