Mk 7 Fiesta ST, first-timer, engine remap only, risky?

Featured Replies

Thinking of a bit of extra power. Completely and utterly new to tuning/remapping, know very little about it. Have a 2015 Fiesta ST 1.6 182hp, currently in Belgium

Interested in a remap for my completely stock car. It's a remap only (no parts changed), I know the figures are approx but am interested in the below

-> 225 hp and -> 330 nm torque with these guys

https://dvxperformance.com/stage/ford/fiesta/mk7-2013-2017/3773/st-16t/1

Is it risky? am I pushing it a bit? or can the engine/gearbox handle that okay with no other modifications?

thanks

How well known are they in Belgium? In the UK we have Revo, Pumaspeed (Maxxd), Peron and Collins who are all well known and have done a lot of development on the ST, all have a stage 1 map that should make similar figures with standard hardware, we also have a lot of independant "tuners" who make similar claims. Personally I'd go with a well known tuner.

Same for me, bought a remapped car by Revo (Unknown to me at purchase) and took it to an independent tuner, showed me how it was running rich on fuel and not properly tuned for the car, pushed it to 230 hp. Absolutely love it.

Your engine/gearbox should handle it up to roughly 280-300 hp (I think?) Before any real concerns, so not too risky! Enjoy it.
