Is this the right oil for my Fiesta?

Featured Replies

Popped to a nearby Day's Ford/Peugeot branch to pick up some oil for my 2008 Mk6.5 1.25 petrol Fiesta, and was given a tub of Eurorepar Premium C3 5w30 oil. Got back to the car and had a quick look at the label on the back of the tub, and it mentions it's suitable for Kia/Hyundai vehicles as well as a list of VW and BMW spec codes and has the ACEA C3 spec but there's no mention of the Ford spec codes anywhere. Here's the product spec sheet. I popped back into the dealer to query it where I was met with another gent, and he basically said any 5w30 oil is fine and not to pay too much attention to the spec codes on the label. Never had a problem with oil I've bought from Day's before; always met the Ford spec and had the spec codes on the label.

Wasn't entirely convinced with what he said. Can anyone on here offer any advice? Should I just take it back or will it be fine for my Fiesta? Cheers 🙂

Your car is long out of warranty so as long as the grade is correct I don't think you need to worry.

Sticking to the letter of the book is most important when your car is in warranty.

Thanks. I didn't want to stick the oil in the car if there's a chance it'll cause a problem. Knowing my luck there’s always some slim chance that there’s some weird rubber/plastic that will react badly, or it does/doesn’t do something and causes it to fail on emissions in the MOT next week.
