Newbie-Fiesta BHP correct?

Featured Replies

Hi all, last week i bought a 2018 Fiesta ecoboost ST-Line 140,re-living my youth when the Mk 1 & 2 XR2's were all the rage.My St-Line seems a little under powered. How do i check that it is actually the 140BHP model?I have checked the log book and the bottom right hand column under Vehicle Details heading,it says Max.net power (KW) is 92.I have converted this and it comes back with a figure of 121.6 BHP.Have i done this right?

Put the vin or reg into etis.ford.com vehicle lookup.

If it is a 125 and been sold as a 140 then take it back.

Your conversion is indeed correct, 92kW is around 123bhp. If your logbook states this as the power output then you have got the 125 rather than the 140. As above though, double check via FordETIS but if you've been sold a 125 when the car was advertised as a 140, I'd take it back as soon as I could...

In addition to the above, check the sticker in the driver door pillar. This will give you the variant. If a 140, it will state Fiesta ST-Line (140) somewhere on that sticker which also displays the VIN code.

I don't understand how dealers can get this info so wrong. All they have to do is check that little sticker to verify which one it is (100, 125 or 140).
They are supposed to know their cars and yet we see it a lot where they advertise it as the wrong engine (usually overstating the size rather than understating it).
I was looking at Trust Ford a few days ago and some were advertised as 140 yet in the write up underneath it clearly stated it was the 125 version.

first thing I checked when I bought mine 😊

What makes it a 'plus' model out of interest?  Is it an ST Line X?
