Usb Audio Not Playing

Featured Replies

Hi everyone, this is my first post to the Ford Forums. :) Sorry it has to be a problem here, but: The USB audio on my Ford Audio sound system appears to be mute. It has been working for weeks, and I've just left my USB stick in, turned the thing on today and it's silent when I try to play any music on the USB stick. The screen shows the song playing, and everything seems ok, the seconds counter increments, but the speakers are silent. :( Switch to radio input, and I do get sound, so it looks like a bug in the Ford Audio firmware? I've tried a few things, like taking the USB stick out and putting in again, turning the engine off and on... nothing seems to work. The volume is up too. Any ideas?

Myself and others discussed this a few weeks ago on here.

I have certainly seen the same as yourself. Fix can be random, pulling out and re-inserting USB stick, switching radio off then on, switching ignition off then on, or the one I discovered recently, use the steering wheel control to switch audio sources.

Sorry no definitive answer, but perhaps the more who flag up issues will lead to a fix.

Then again, sometimes the computer won't see a USB stick for no obvious reason.

Stewart.
