MK8: one year service?

Featured Replies

Had my MK8 almost exactly a year (got it last June). I've done almost 10,000 miles, am I right in saying it is now due a service?

A 2018 would be a Mk 8 and as such on the new 2 year service interval which has been much debated on here.

So strictly not due for service until 2 years/18,000 miles. To keep the breakdown cover you need a convenience check for which the official rate was originally around £35 but now seems to have gone up to £99, though some dealers are open to negotiation.

A lot of members, me included, have had an oil and filter change at the same time.

Sorry MK8 - of course!

the dealer here in Egypt service schedule is every 10000 km , that's 7500 miles , and during each service there is an oil and filter change, hope this helps

Just for info mine went in the other week for it's first service at 16,200 miles when the 'change engine oil' light came on.

The car at the time was around 13 months old.

Dealer said they have not had any reach the 18,000 mile without the oil change light coming on.

Cheers - Paul.
