MK6 Fiesta Zetec (2007) - Stereo Upgrade Advice!

Featured Replies

First time poster here!

I've recently purchased a 2007 Fiesta Zetec Climate (1.4 TDCI) and I'm looking to upgrade the stereo.

The one I have in mind is this: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B07GLWLQSY/?coliid=I2PSO9KI6NISOT&colid=2EA8D06ZUJFSA&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it

From what I can work out, I'll need the following to make it all work:

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Ford-Fiesta-Facelift-Mk6-5-Double-Din-Stereo-Fitting-Facia-Stalk-Adaptor-Kit/173108653785

https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Connects2-Sony-CTSONYLEAD-Stalk-Steering-Control-Adaptor-Patch-Lead/161015737917

Has anybody got any experience installing a Sony CarPlay head unit in a MK6? Is there anything else I might need in order to install the stereo successfully?

I don't have any previous experience installing a car stereo but after watching a few YouTube videos I'm feeling confident! Please let know if there's anything I've missed! 🙂

At the end of the day all you're doing is installing a double din head unit. I'm not sure you need the bottom adapter tbh, it looks to be included with the fascia and wiring adapter kit in the first link.

Hi Luke, thanks for your response.

From what I understand the stalk adapter that comes in the first link is Part 1/2 of the adapter. The 2nd part seems to be dependent on what brand the stereo you wish to add is, in my case being Sony.

Is the fascia part nessasery? The stereo looks to come with something similar and I’m unsure which I’ll need to use. Looking at other Mk6’s with 3rd party stereos some have the facia and some fit without one, I’m unsure of the difference.

don't get confused between  a)Mk6   and b)Mk6.5 (mk6 facelift).     You have mk6.5 which is different from mk6 with regard to where the radio goes.

The mk6 and mk6.5 are both often referred to as Mk V  (roman numeral 5) on ebay etc.  because in the UK the Mk numbers are different to some other countries.

I see, thanks 🙂
