My focus just failed the MOT on the centre brake light not working.

I have discovered that there are several bulbs in there.

My question is how do i remove the light cover so far i have unscrewed the cover and i can pull it away slightly

as i was doing this i noticed the light come on so its not a bulb problem.

the bulb holder just seems to be sitting in there loose

any ideas how i can fix this problem

    if the holders broke then a new light is needed or a second hand item from a scrapyard or ebay although im sure that the centre brake light doesnt count only the two main brake lights do as the centre one isnt there on some cars i would have thought it would be an advisory

    As far as i'm aware. Cars dont have to have the third brake light, But if its got one it has to work.

    i stand corrected seems stupid that because you have irt it must work when you have 2 others that work fine
