New Mk7 Flip Key Transpoder Coding?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Does anyone know how/if a new key transponder can be coded to start the car without going to the dealer? (they charge loads for this). I recently bought a flip key from ebay and had it cut. Coding the central locking was easy, but Im stumped on how to code it to the imobiliser pats. I was told you can do it yourself if you have the 2 original keys.

Any help or thoughts would be great.

I used this site when I had a Fiesta MK6. It has some info about key coding, can't comment on the new fiesta. you may be able to E-mail them.

Timpsons, the high street key makers offer a coding service.

As far as i know it requires a diagnostic unit to coded the key.

I know the fords IDS can do it but i dont know of any other system that can.

you can only use the 2 key system on cars pre 2000.

I can code it for you but depends where you are as i would need the car also along with the new key.

How much did fords want for doing it?

Normally £79.50 +VAT at fords in my area which is an hours labour
