Fiesta 85 hp or 120hp

Featured Replies

Hi

Based in Cyprus and have been considering diesel Fiesta as will be doing about 25000 miles per annum motorway driving.

The 85hp is immediately available whilst the 120hp is actually not available in Cyprus and would be a special order. It would take over 4 months for delivery and is over 1700 euros more. Both would be Titanium spec and the only difference is the power and I believe rear disc brakes for the 120?

The 120 is far more appealing with what looks like a small consumption penalty and a hefty price.

Question is, are the engines very different or just a different map? I would assume if different  it would most likely be ancillaries such as  turbo and or injectors. Or if just a different map would one of the mapping/tuning boxes be a much cheaper way to get the 85 closer to the 120?

Thanks

Hi Paul,

I don't know about the diesel but I test drove both the 99ps and the 125ps and I wouldn't have bought the 99.  I much preferred the 125.

The torque will be different in the petrol but the 125 just seemed a lot more punchier to me.

Hi

I drove the 120bhp in the Focus and it did feel stronger than the 85 despite the extra weight. Might have to do a remap on the 85 after the first few thousand klms to bring it up closer to the 120.

Thanks
