Cruise control normal behavior?

The cruise control in my manual transmission 2015 focus 1.0 disengage every time I change gear. Is this normal or do I have a faulty clutch sensor or some other problem?

    Yes that's normal operation for Mk2 & Mk3 Focus.

    They changed during Mk4 Focus so that the clutch no longer cancelled cruise. Some of us hate it. Others prefer it.

    I drive a 2022 transit at work so having to reset the cruise every gear change in my focus annoys me a lot and I fear it will wear out the button.Is it possible to change this behavior?
