Updating my Nav in Sync 3

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Wondering if theres a way of updating my Nav without having to take it into a Ford dealer like Google is telling me. Can I just update the sd card or...

Any advice would be helpful thanks.

Jason.

If its Sync 3 Ford dealer won't want to do it as it's customers responsibility. Theres no SD card you download updates to PC then USB drive . Go to

https://www.ford.co.uk/owner/resources-and-support/sync-bluetooth/update#/status/

enter your VIN and look for updates

Cheers for the reply.. I entered my vin yesterday and it says I need to take it to my Ford dealer for maps. Everything else is upto date it's just the maps... also theres an sd card that pops out above the screen. I assumed that was for the nav....

It's not Sync3 then but probably Sync2 so you just need to buy latest SD card which you will find cheaper online than going to Dealer for one

No not touch screen. Sorry just assumed sync 3. Dont even know why I assumed that tbh. It's for a 17 plate fiesta st line if that helps?

It's most likely Sync 1.1. I have a 17 plate Mk7.5 ST-Line and it's Sync 1.1.
For map upgrades, you have to buy the card from Ford. You can get them on eBay but be wary as a lot of them on eBay aren't genuine.
I think the latest version of maps on the SD card is F7.
