Washer Jet Problem Anyone?

Featured Replies

Basically you press the button on the end of the windscreen wiper stalk, the motor wrrrrrrrrrrrrs and you get a dribble of water coming out of the jets, great for washing your bonnet but not a lot goes on the screen.

Had this problem twice now 1st time I thought it was due to the cold weather and the bottle or pipes freezing up.

Today I thought maybe there is a filter that has got clogged up and needs cleaning. :(

Whilst I had the bonnet open I checked the pipes and noticed it curls back on itself as the bonnet closes. I pressed the button whilst the bonnet was up and whooooooooooooooooooosh water at full pelt coming out of the jets. :o

Closed the bonnet and noticed the pipe bends cutting off the flow slightly.

After moving the pipe around I’ve now closed the bonnet and once again the washer jets really work spraying water right up the screen. :D

Might be worth checking yours if you’re having a similar problem B)

The tube that goes from the jets to the tank often get squeezed between the hinges on the left side of the bonnet when opening/closing, i believe this is quite a common problem.

As above tube pops out of a clip belowe the hinge and gets pinched.

Yup. I had exactly the same problem. Fixed it by opening and closing the bonnet. Was due to the tube being compressed in the hinge.
