Phone Holder

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I've recently bought a Focus Mk3 and I'm struggling to find a phone holder thats suitable.

I don't like ones that fit into the grill and the ones that stick to the window do my head in.

Just wondering what other people have used?

TIA.

I like Brodit mounts.
Not cheap but multiple applications.

Definitely Brodit!!

www.drivesafeandlegal.co.uk is the cheapest UK supplier I've found (had them in 3 vehicles over the last 5-6 years...still on the original phone holder - just the mounts that change)

+1 for Brodit Pro clip. The A Pillar one.

Yes that's one possibility. They also do another one that fits on the A-pillar if you prefer the phone up by the steering wheel. You will also need the second part of it that fits your phone. The phone part and the car part screw together to make a complete unit.

Also available here: https://dsldevelopments.com/

and here: https://www.brodit.co.uk/

Prices vary between the above suppliers and Amazon.

I've used Brodit stuff for years.
Although the actual mount is the same I found I was having to buy new phone cradles every time I changed phones so changed tack and used a magnetic mount instead.
It's cheaper to just source new adhesive metal discs that I stick onto my phone cases.
I'll get photos of my set-up later if I remember but this is the holder I use (the screw holes line uo with the pre-marked ones on the bracket nicely.

I've used the standard adhesive attached "Magic Mount" by Scosche for some years, with the magnetic disc fitted between the rear of the phone and the protective case. The vent mount version isn't very good, as it wouldn't stay in position when I tried it.

Don't like vent holders either.
They block the vent and never seem to sit properly.

Clive do you still use the Brodit mount? I'm looking one for myself , I'm going to get the A pillar version but they don't do the actual cradle for my phone model so is there a universal cradle that can be screwed to the brodit mount?

That was my 1st ever 'mobile' phone got in 1990. Battery life was an extensive 2 to 3 hours, and my work desk had a whole bank of 5 batteries permanently on charge. It was on 'CellNet' with a monthly line rental of £32 (phone bought outright at £1000+), no calls included. Great days LOL
