cambelt mileage change

Featured Replies

Hi

Has anyone else had a cambelt failure on a 1.5 deisal fiesta, the one i was about to buy had only 65000 miles with full service history is this not a bit early for one of these to go?

I suppose it means a near new engine rebuild?  good job i never took delivery, any advise welcome!

When is the right time to change a belt? or is it just pot luck after 50000 miles

Cheers  mike

Depends what age it is, that's worse on rubber than mileage is.

There's an issue with the cam sprocket on the 1.5 TDCi, they should have all been recalled by now though.

Looks like they missed this one, anyway not bothering with sport van now as engine is to be replaced, buying one with 24000 miles on safer bet I think
