Start up problem

Hi there, I’ve got a 2007 focus 1.6 automatic. Not long owned the car. It was sat a while. The day I drove the car from the garage, on First start up it seemed to not want to fire up, the key was turned twice, lights had all come on, the key was turned a third time and it whizzed but no fire. I had to turn the ignition off and try again, which was successful. I had put it down to a minor issue that I thought may go away considering it had not been frequently used. However it has not gone away and it’s a pain in the backside. Does anybody know what the problem is? Thanks.

plenty of fuel in the tank ? when was the last service and spark plug change done
