S-Max 2016 Titanium 2.0 Third Gear Issue HELP!

Featured Replies

Can anyone confirm something for me with regards to the gearing?

We've just acquired one of the 2016 2.0l TDCI, 37000 miles.

Third gear sometimes does not go all the way in straight away, it seems to hang at the mid-point on the way in.

For instance when accelerating quickly we will push in the clutch then it feels like the gears not ready, then after hesitation it pushes home.

Sometimes when decelerating from 4th, it hangs again before going all the way into third fully.

Are we rushing the gearbox, coming from a petrol to this? Maybe the S-max is a little slower and requires more Revs?

We're really trying to adjust our driving style, but its been sold with Warranty so would like to get it looked at before we've owned it too long.

None of the other gears have this hesitation and we are really pleased other than this!

Are we being too sensitive?
