Fault codes on my ford

Featured Replies

I’m getting an engine malfunction message on my car and in the test menu there is 6 DTCs coming up plus the oil service light, I’ve reset the oil service reminder but I’m wondering does anyone know where I might get the information to tell what the faults are in the test menu, the car is driving prefect plenty of power and all that. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

To be honest the codes derived from a dash test are mostly meaningless, a lot of them are comms faults thst come up when the car is assembled.
As modules are added on the line, some aren't connected to the corresponding sensor before powering up therefore chucking up the legacy dtc marker.
Get a modified ELM327 cable off ebay, plug in with a laptop thst has Forscan instslled and that will bring up all stored codes, that way you will be able to see what is relevant and what is legacy junk.
If you don't want to go the elm route or have no laptop access then any garage with a decent diagnostics module can sort it out for you.
