escort 1.8 td no boost pressure

Featured Replies

hi. ive put the 1.8 td with intercooler 90bhp diesel in my van, changed belts, water pump etc and got it running. i have a fmi that im intending to fit. have fitted boost guage plumbed into the tube going from turbo to wastegate tho can easily plumb it into the boost tube going to the diesel pump.

ive wound in the actuator arm as far as it will go but it reads the same psi as if i hadnt adjusted it, really low at 5psi around 3k revs.

do you think i have a leak somewhere, a crap guage or is the actuator or turbo dodgy? do you know if fitting one off a mondeo would be better?

i do have another 90bhp lump with turbo i can use for parts. any help would be great, as i thought these should run around 15 to 18 psi with actuator arm shortened.
