2019 Focus Vignale fault

Featured Replies

Hello,

Had the car for approx 3 months now and when pulling off in the mornings I'm losing power and not getting above 2000 revs when pushing down on pedal.

The engine management light then comes on and I get a warning on the Ford Pass app about it being down to "excessive exhaust temperatures" or something along those lines.

Took it in for inspection, they plugged it in and said nothing is wrong, yet it happened again a few weeks later.

When the fault develops if I pull over the light stays on for about about 2 minutes and then turns off again, the car shakes mildly during this time. The issue doesn't then reappear and only seems apparent when the vehicle has been off for long periods of time i.e overnight.

Any thoughts?

Might be worth getting a 15 quid ELM cable from tunnelrat, and the free forscan software

My wife's m8 fiesta went into limp mode the other day when she stalled it.  I used forscan and read a code for an issue with stop/start.

When she took it to Ford the day after they said they couldn't find an error code.
