uk or international versions on items

Featured Replies

Would you or have you brought an international version over a UK one.

I'm looking at the S10 on Amazon but 2 models, the international one is said to be the better one and faster with the Snapdragon chip over Samsung own chip, what would you do.

Looking at stuff there seems to be a lot these day between uk and international models.

In this case it's the s10...........Had a good read about but just a bit concerned about the warranty and updates.

Samsung will weedle their way out of any warranty claim regardless, if you have an international version expect difficulty with them. If you buy an international version from a UK seller (or EU seller) you have the Consumer rights afforded to you by the EU/UK so can kind of ignore your warranty with Samsung.

Cheers for your reply on this.
It's just the uk don't have the snapdragon chip which supposed to be better on battery and a little faster but I ain't got a clue.
Can you register it online for the warranty if it's new but no receipt like ebay and still sealed box do you know.

I don't know about Samsung, but I know that Sony will not honour their 2 year warranty on phones that are not intended for the market that they were built for. Their excuse is that the service centres only have parts for that countries phones.

I have also read that the S10 with the Snapdragon Chip is much better.

There must be a Samsung Forum that would have some more information, or maybe a Reddit sub page or another Android Forum.

They sell the snapdragon one on Amazon, got to say I was looking at the s10 e as that's got the snapdragon 855 chip like the s10+ has
Looks a nice one the s10e and it's only mainly the camera you lack which is still good I'm on the s9 now and wanted the dual sim and a few other bits.

That is the problem with phones, I'm sure there will be a S11 out soon and that will be better than all the previous ones 🤔

This is it,I dont buy them new like £900,I would go to about £500 either lower spec or as now 12 months old, came off iphone 3 years ago as I like the customizing option on android but did look at the XS being cheaper but just limited on a lot of stuff from tones etc so looked at the s10,s11 they say March area.

No idea - but given that it's not a UK model I imagine the only way they'd honour the warranty would be if you went through the warranty process in the country it's meant to be for.
