2018 focus st line crash mode

Featured Replies

I recently got rather severely rear ended by a high speeding van while stationary, my focus went into ‘crash mode’ and I was wondering what exactly this is and can it be undone as insurance company are being very slow in making a decision on my car thanks

If it’s a mk4 it’ll have ‘post collision assist’ . As far as I know it puts the brakes on to avoid further damage. I’ve never heard of crash mode , if it’s a mk3 that’ll be why I’ve not heard of it.

my sisters Mk3 had it, it was reset when the body shop - no idea what it was but interesting to see on the cluster

no air bags had popped

Usually there is a battery cut off somewhere, in some cars it physically severs the battery cables, in others it's a resettable switch.

Not sure if this is all, but I've seen these in some vehicles, so it may be the focus has something similar?
