Ok this is NOT a political post but why, when conservatives have 60 seats more than labour does the BBC keep talking about a majority of 80?

    My guess is it's because it includes the other parties that have agreed to vote with them like the ones in northern Ireland

    Check your arithmetic. At present they have 159 more than Labour but an overall majority over all other parties of up to 80
