Hi All,

I've just bought a new Focus that has a sync 3 system in it, my issue is that the satnav is alerting on temporary speed cameras near my home that were removed about 8 months ago. The Focus I traded in stopped alerting to those cameras months ago so it is definately an issue with the new car not updating.

I have tried updating the system via the Ford website using a memory stick, it says the maps are up to date but did succesfully update the Sync 3 software. I have tried connecting my home wi-fi and the Ford pass app, none of which are making any difference.

I have spoken to the dealership who said to use google maps on my phone, but why should I when I have a satnav in the car?

Can anyone tell me how the speed camera locations are updated on the sync 3 system and is there any way I can force it to update?

You'll have to wait for the next Map update, and hope that the old cameras have been removed.

I'm waiting for new maps to include some newly installed cameras where I live.

If you want upto date maps, then google/waze is your best option.

Thanks a lot. The garage tried to tell me it was something to do with receiving live updates but as the traffic jams show up I didn't think it was that bit that wasn't working

It's not going to help you at this time, but you can do your bit for others and maybe yourself in the future by editing the maps online.

Sync3 uses Here.com maps. and they have an editor https://mapcreator.here.com/  won't show up on your maps, but I guess it could at some point if nobody else edits the maps.
