Rear Drum/Brake shoe Replacement Intervals

Anyone happen to know how often they should be replaced? Or is it one of them things where I should just take the drum off and look? Doing my front discs and pads next month so wondering if there was a set mileage/time so I can figure out whether to do them too.

    I think mainly it just comes down to checking the wear of the shoes to see they are okay. Also check that it is adjusted correctly and the automatic adjusters are working as they tend to go wrong then you may notice that at heavier braking it feels like all brakes engaged.
