Tyre inflator

Featured Replies

Hi

I currently have a Ring tyre inflator, but when I disconnect it from the tyre I have to unscrew it and this releases air, so I can't get the the pressure as accurate as I would like.

Is it possible to get a tyre inflator kit that connects without an unscrew thread?

Thanks

I wouldn't trust the reading on the inflator...get yourself a tyre pressure gauge for an accurate reading.

I agree get yourself a decent tyre pressure gauge. I have the same problem with my tyre inflation pump. Losing pressure as I unscreew the hose. What I do is inflate the tyre to 2psi above what I want on the pump gauge, then drop down the pressure till it is correct using my tyre pressure gauge.

Sainsburys forecourts have free tyre air so I've never bothered with a separate inflator myself.

Cheers I may get the digital gauge from halfords then to check, the reading on my tyre pump sometimes goes just a bit above, so if it does that would allow for the slight release of air when I unscrew, but as you say I will have to check how accurate with a gauge, the Halfords gauge has a button that releases air as well which is good.

I ended up getting the halfords digital tyre pressure gauge, need to still test it against my tyre inflator reading though,  but I love the fact that the gauge has a button to release air if over inflated, and it gives a beep when its reached the target pressure.

Thanks
