Replacement maf sensor

Featured Replies

So i found my maf is making my ford mondeo 2.5t hesitate under light acceleration.

I replaced the sensors: fuelpressure, map, boost solenoid. Additional i cleaned the trottlebody.

When i drive with the maf disconnected the car runs much smoother, however less powerfull.

The bosch oem maf cost 300euro. I can find hella for 150 or pierburg for 110euro.

Does anybody got advice for me on this?

If it's less powerful when disconnected then the MAF is good.  It's smoother because it's using a failsafe 'overfuel' map to avoid engine damage from a lean mixture.  Have you had any diagnostics done or got any fault codes?  It gets expensive just changing parts randomly!

What did you clean the throttle body with? Did you inadvertently get any cleaning agent on any of the sensors like the TPF (Throttle Position Sensor) which may be causing the hesitation, or the Idle Speed Control Valve (ISCV)? If so, its more likely to be something on the throttle body causing the issue. Generally the MAF will continue to work if untouched; it should only be lightly cleaned otherwise with electrical cleaner, not a solvent or cleaning agent like Carb Cleaner. With the MAF off the car will go into Limp-mode to protect the engine as TomsFocus advised.

I get one fault code.

B10CO FUEL pump power supply. Short circuit to battert. which i cannot explain. For this i checked all the wiringlooms in the engine compartment

The trottlebody was cleaned with trottlebody cleaner  the car runs much better than before the cleaning.

I was very carefull not getting cleaner on the electronics.

I also cleaned the maf by only spraying gentle on the sensor it self with the same trottlebody cleaner

Startup and idle is always good.

Maybe its better to replace the word hesitation with not beeing smooth.

Before i replace the fps,map en boos solenoid it was really stuttering at 2200rpm.

Trouble Code: B10C0
Address: 0x90C0
System: Body

This indicates a problem with an electrical component running off or to the Throttle Body control module.

BMCii Error Code B10C0:12

Fuel Pump Supply problem - likely a short in an electrical circuit or component looped back to the battery in the wiring. Electrical check required on one of the Body components looping back to the fuel pump power supply. It could also be a circuit on the fuel tank to the rear so check the earth there.

Is the trottlebody part of the body module ?
