What i am trying to establish is what part of these radios are actually sony? I had the titanium premium set up which had a part number for the silver box  of E1BT-18C815-HC.

When i got a sat nav system i just connected up the ford type control fascia and this is what had got me thinking as this silver box part has a number of E1BT-18C815-HK.

Is it the Sony fascia control that gives it the "sony sound"?  Maybe i need to put the sony fascia back on.

Someone will hopefully correct me properly as I'm not sure but my understanding was that the silver box is the same regardless, fascia difference is just looks and only the speakers differed 

I could be totally wrong this is mainly assumptions from the different parts I've had and used 

The radios are all Visteon, the Sony branded one just has a Sony made sound processor inside.

Thanks guys appreciate the info. I have scoured the web looking for info but not much about the various part number meanings. One thing i have established is that the units i have had that come with the sony fascia  all ended in HK. I realised in my original post that i said it ended in HC i think i must have swapped it over when i bought the sat nav set up and sold on the HK box. Got another HK system coming so i am going to swap it out and see if i can pick up any difference...yes, i know don't ask me why.
