Ford Fiesta 2005 MK6 won't start

Featured Replies

Car has stood for 2.5 years, key fob battery is good (still works central locking), and new battery on car.  Turning key onto run position  - we get all the lights on and the imobiliser light goes out.

Turn to the key start position the car, starter motor tries to start, then the imobiliser light flashes.   Car won't start.

Anyone have any idea why or what to do?

Could be a bad ground. Undo the bolt that connects the battery negative cable to the car body near the top of the front suspension strut. Scrape the paint away and clean the ring terminal with a wire brush and connect it back up.

The earth may have got worse after the first start and now the pcm cannot run properly, and the anti theft light comes on.
