Anybody changed the oil on a MK2?

Hi guys,

 

first post on here, was just wondering if anyone had changed the oil in there Mk2 focus and if it is easy/cheap enough? Or is it worth taking it to the garage?

    Hi and welcome 🙂  

    If you know what you're doing and have got the right tools, it's a pretty straightforward job. If you haven't got any experience or tools  then you won't save much initially but long term the savings are huge if you DIY and are willing to learn.

    A Haynes manual for your focus will show you images aswell as list the tools required; if it's a 1.6TDCi engine I can advise you on accessing the oil filter.

    The wipers and air filter you can do very easily already.

    Yes easy to do if you have a set of car ramps so you can get under to reach sump plug. Parts are cheap enough oil around £22. Oil filter around £6. Air filter around £8. Pollen filter around £9. 😏
