Limp mode, P2409, B1601

Featured Replies

Good morning everyone,

I wonder if anyone can help, I have a 2006 ford focus 1.6 tdci, and in the last month i've been getting intermittent limp mode activated, now from a wheek it won't go off at all, checked the car with the internal diagnostic sistem brings up dtc 9601, also checked it with a professional bosch 350 and it came up with 2 errors, p2409, tank flap sensor, signal not in range, and b1601 immobilizer wrong code received. The thing is that both 2 original keys are giving the same result, also, the car still starts, so wouldn't an immobiliser issue prevent it from starting at all?

Should i take the car to Ford, or a locksmith?

Also, regarding the p2409, can a faulty tank flap switch make it go into limp mode?I already topped up the Eloys fluid.

My question is, which one of them is causing the limp mode?
