Stuck in gear and not moving

Hi guys I’ve currently got a 18 plate fiesta st line 1.0 ecoboost. Today the strangest thing happened I was about to take off and tried to stick car into reverse and nothing would happen. The gear sticks only moving up and down it won’t go into any gears. I’m hoping this is covered under warranty with ford, I’ve had someone come out have a look and they think it’s the actual gearbox itself. Has anyone had any issues with the gear stick? Just annoying due to the ongoing situation and I can’t get it fixed atm

    Might be more of a clutch issue than the gearbox itself. Will it go into any gears with the engine off?

    No mate this sticks really loose and only moves forward and back, can’t move it side to side

    Ah yes that rules out the clutch lol. I'd check the linkage before you go fitting a new gearbox.

    Was this issue fixed? What was the fixing plan? I currently have the same issue.
