Juddering under load

Featured Replies

So I changed my spark plugs and ignition pack a few weeks back as there was a tiny judder every once in a while. Since I've done that my car now judders really badly under load, accelerating or going up hill. Consistently. When I changed the spark plugs one of them that I took out was covered in what I thought was oil. Please help as I have to drive to get to work and I've heard that in some cases it can cause engine damage...

Did you change the leads as well?

Were the plugs gapped correctly?  Are they all tight?  (But not overtight!)

Did you use a cheap aftermarket coil pack?

Did not change the leads. They were gapped correctly and were tightened with torque wrench at 15nm as per my manual... No ngk plugs and bocsh coil pack / distributer... I know not to buy cheap parts for my car haha

Ah ok, Bosch coil pack should be good, the cheap ones are generally rubbish lol.

I'd try changing the leads personally, they're so cheap anyway.  For now you could even just pull them and re-seat them to see if that makes any difference, one might be a bit loose.

It's not uncommon to get a bit of oil running down the plug threads as you remove them, it comes from the rocker cover gasket but doesn't usually cause a problem unless there's loads of it.
