Focus Turbo / air socket vacuum tube

Featured Replies

Hi,

I recently changed the oil, oil filter, and air filter. while I was changing, I noticed a vacuum tube to turbo had been glued before and it broke. I managed to glue it but it never before as it fell off.

in the morning when the engine temperature is low, I see the car is not producing enough power or turbo failure. after the engine gets a bit warm, then it back to normal.
when the engine is running, if I place my finger on tube side I feel vacuum in it.

The question, what is exactly this tube functionality ?  is it safe to drive until it is fixed?
is that the reason why engine turbo failure I see?

you may need a vacuum tube clamp or take it into a ford garage.

It may be worth fitting a new vacuum tube.

Get a jubilee clamp on there and tighten it up. Failing that, just get a new vacuum line and you should be fine.

If you don’t have any jubilee clips, you might get away with a cable tie
