Sporadic alarm focus Mk2

Featured Replies

Hello!

i have a 2009 focus titanium with a bit of an issue, it seems to like setting its own alarm off in the middle of the night, multiple times. No trend of specific times either, last night I watched it go off, no cats jumping up and down on it, no wind, nothing. At 02.30am I disconnected the bonnet catch sensor as I read on here that’s a common problem. But no it set off again half hour later.

also tried not double locking, and only locking with the key.

today I have sprayed contact cleaner on the sensor and lubed up the catch itself, also all the other door catches, boot catch etc.

if this doesn’t work what’s my next step? If it’s the middle of the night again I’ll disconnect the fuse but I’m sure that’s for the heating control as well.

thanks for any help!

Jamie

I've got simillar problems but on a mk3 - check your battery, if its low it could be causing your alarm to go off
