Intermittent Limp Mode ( EVRV??)

Featured Replies

Hello ,

Car Model - Ford Focus 1.6 TDCI 2013 plate (2013 WHITE FORD FOCUS ZETEC ECONETIC TDCI)

Hoping someone has had similar or knows what my issue is -

I recently had my car put in for a full service, Once i got my car back i noticed on long journeys my acceleration becoming intermittent, it started to struggle in 5/6th gear up small hills id usually go up quite easily and needing to drop down gears to reach higher speeds making it dangerous to overtake on motorways. After a few journeys the engine management light came on so i took it back to the garage who serviced the car who said there was no issues with the car. ( The engine fault light cleared when i turned the engine off) . I continued to drive with the issue and on one journey managed to get home with another engine malfunction light . I left my car running so my neighbor who owns a snap on reader could diagnose a fault. the faults that came up were:

P2563-00 Turbo Charger boost control position sensor circuit range/ performance

P2599-00 Turbo charger boost control position sensor A performance Stuck high

According to my neighbor who asked a friend who works for ford it is a known fault with what they call an EVRV ( Electronic Vacuum Regulation Valve) ????

Now i have never heard of one of these ever and i cannot find anywhere the part to buy to replace it. I am only assuming its a part they have renamed to avoid anyone buying parts from somewhere else and charging through the roof for the replacement .... which I have been quoted at £200

My current solution involves turning the engine on and off again at lights or stops which seems to wake the car up and clear the issue making the car run like normal. Which is very odd !!

if anyone has a solution or answer this would help me ALOT as after a recent service and needing new parts i just havent got the money to give to ford just to look at it and even less to buy a part which i could potentially source and fit myself

Hi did you work out what the issue was here? I am having the same with my 2013 fiesta

Who knows ????

@Jdixon91 posted the question and didn't return, that was back in August 2020.

You would be better stating your own new thread in the FIESTA forum.

Ok
