Focus MK3 Passenger Wiper stopped working!

Featured Replies

I have a Nov 2013 63 plate Focus Titanium X Estate with 67k on the clock. Been a Ford man all my life! Had loads of Fords in the past, not much goes wrong apart from exhaust/battery/brakes, the normal wear & tear items e.t.c However really dissapointed and peed off that this happened. That's why I have always bought Ford. These sort of things just don't happen on Fords and this sort of age! Sort of thing you would hear from someone who owns a Citroen/Renault! Thinking about selling and buying a Toyota, that's how annoyed I am with this.

I have replaced the passenger wiper motor, disconnected the battery for 1 hour, and still didn't work. Does anyone have any ideas? The drivers side wiper works by the way.

It turned out to be a bad wire sending the signal from the driver side wiring to the passenger side. Basically, the wire has either burnt out or torn apart. The car is not even seven years old, really disgusted with this! I thought the fuse for the wiper motors is there to protect this? I know what everyone is saying, "Big Deal, get over it, that's Modern cars for you, you have to move along with the times". Stongly thinking about selling this and buying an old Ford, at least it will be more reliable with less things to go wrong.

The wire that connects the 2 wiper motors together is a LIN bus wire and is not fused. It hardly carries any current either. I imagine water has somehow got under the scuttle panel and rotted the wire out
