what is the best diagnostic code reader to buy for my 1999 focus 1.6 16v . and how mutch are thay. and are thay any good.

    Depends how much you want to spend, you can use the "focus dashboard trick" to get access to DTC codes. You canbuy a cheap one from ebay for about 16 quid which works with a laptop, or you can buy standard diagnostics. Go browsing ebay for OBD2 Diagnostics reader. it really depends how much you want to spend.

    It would be because at least that way you can log everything, also you can view live feed like revs and other sensor feed, review the first link I sent, and read what it can report, and that will tell you what you can make it do.
