Forced to allow Ford to track me.

As we are looking at the App I went into Privacy and this popped up! What on Earth are these?

Google says the top one is a Dealer in the U.S.

The second one is a data service platform for cars.

Ha!  I rest my case.  😀

I've don't allow the my journeys tracking and as from today I have to pay for live traffic that can be turned off too.

I can't remember, but does the app ask for your nation when first setting it up, if its a worldwide app some of the 3rd party privacy info may be just California based as I believe that state had stronger privacy laws.

O.K. folks - I turned it on and went for a drive. Below is the report summary it generates. There is another page, more detailed, but it shows my location - so I'm not showing. Lol.

I'll be turning it off as soon as I can work out how!

On FordPass select Account.

Select Settings.

Scroll down to and select Journey Recording.

Under Journey Settings, Select Off.

Bless you - didn't scroll down Lol. Now off - forever!

Does that allow them to still receive the data but prevent them from showing it it to you any more? I've no idea, just speculating.

I've got ford pass pro and that doesn't have any journey recording options at all.

What’s the point of the FordPass pro app if you don’t have a fleet of cars?

When I went to the Google play store I had the choice of pro or non-pro. The text for Pro sa

PLEASE NOTE: FordPass Pro is designed to work exclusively with vehicles fitted with the FordPass Connect modem.

As my car has the modem that's the one I went for.

I do see the none pro says this:

The app offers a whole range of connected features for vehicles with built-in modems, like remote controls and Wi-Fi on the road.

It isn't as in your face the the way the Pro app says it, I did install both and prefer the look of the pro app, after reading this and the (lack of) privacy issues I'm glad I have kept the pro version!

Oh dear, I didn't get the quoting right in the previous post 😞
