How soon after service would oil need changing

Featured Replies

Hi there. Bought a 2015 1.5tdci focus in march. It had 55000 when purchased.

I've done around 1400 miles in it since march, mainly short trips and I haven't really been driving aggressively. Today It's advised it needs an oil change  Was advised it would have a service before I picked it up which should have included the oil change.

Would it need it doing again so soon?

Remove the dipstick and see what colour the oil is, if it is a medium dark honey colour leave it, if it is black change it. Have you got the service book for the car?

you need to have proof the service was done. the 1.5 tdci doesnt like short / low milage journeys. if in any doubt that oil wasnt changed then i would seriously consider oil change. engine damage can ocour if oil has been diluted with failed dpf regens.
