S Max Heater Problems

Hi all,

I have have an 08 plate 1.8 tdci S max and the Heater select (one with the yellow) ends had broken, I've replaced it and the cogs have almost worn off again - the "thing" it connects to moves freely.. Is there a knack to how its fitted (besides trying to line the cogs up) ?? .. Also does anyone know if you can changed the heater system over to a dual climate control ?? Would appreciate any help
