Mk2 6000 cd

Featured Replies

Hi,

A near neighbour's 6000cd radio/cd as stopped working in his Mk2 Focus. He bought a replacement but this one still doesn't work, keeps saying 'wait' on the radio.

Many thanks.

Probably code locked due to too many incorrect pin attempts.

As said, you need a simple 4 digit PIN (Should have been supplied with radio), and here's what you do with it...

Thanks for the replies, thou his original radio had a code that I put into the radio.

Can only assume that it was the correct code but was not on the original Ford code card!

Thanks

The code is specific to the radio not the car,
I bought a Sony one for my previous car and had to use the code which was supplied with it.

Read this a few times, still have no idea what you mean LOL Hopefully you got the correct code for the replacement radio, entered it, and the radio then sprang into life! 🤣 (I'm now on my 3rd 6000CD, all with their own individual codes)

If it's locked you need to wait for an hour (I think) with the radio on for it to unlock and allow you to enter the code.  It's best to do it while driving so the battery doesn't die on the driveway.  Unless you've got a trickle charger to keep it topped up.
