2013 Focus Sync Module Replacement

Featured Replies

Hey folks. Quick question for a complete newbie,

On my mum's Focus, her Sync/Bluetooth module has died. Long story short, she had it in the garage for some work after an altercation with a telephone pole. She got it back and the bluetooth had stopped working. Garage took the car back and said it wasn't their fault, insurance got involved again - took it to a Ford dealer who said that the module had failed. Insurance didn't want to pay for replacement as they couldn't definitively confirm that it was caused by the accident or by the garage. Either way, wasn't covered.

Managed to find a replacement, every single code/number on the new module (on top in pic with cable tie on it) matches the old module, bar the serial number (obviously) and the date code at the bottom.

My question is, will this be a straight swap over/plug and play job, or will I have to do something with FORScan to get it to work?

Many thanks for replies

Plug and play, no programming required.

You could've actually replaced it with any SYNC module from a mk3 Focus. The start of the product number can be AM5T, E1BT or D1BT, it makes no difference. The latter 2 are the updated SYNC modules meaning you get music titles/artist displayed on the screen when playing over bluetooth.

She's more just wanting her phone capability back 😂 she doesnt often listen to CD's or spotify etc. But good to know that if something goes screwy again I can find other modules to change it to. Many thanks

Pull off the radio cover, remove trim around gear stick hand brake, IMG_8653.thumb.jpeg.76ae6cbbe422eac674fb5fda0981d00c.jpeg

remove climate panel and directly behind the climate.

So you need one with the same part number, except for the very last letter.

AM5T-14D212-P?

AM5T-14D212-PB

AM5T-14D212-PC

AM5T-14D212-PE

Thank you, all clear. Unfortunately there are so many with first letter A, B, C, D.... but with first letter P i found nothing, i have to wait then 🙂

anyway thank you again for your help
