Cambelt/Water Pump Change 1.6 ti-vct zetec 2011

Featured Replies

Hello,

Im in the process of looking for a new car and came across a 1.6 ti-cvt zetect 2011 car. 49k miles in great coniditon. Only problem I have is that im unsure when It should ahve th cam belt replaced. In the service book it says it had it done 4 years ago in 2016, underneath the service stamp, someone has written Cambelt and waterpump changed. Im unsure who has written this as there is no invoice held for this service in the paperowkrk that has been shown to me.

So bacially wondering if its worth buying because im unsure if its been done or not and when it should actually be changed. If its 5 years then i know it will definietley need doing again.

IF anyhone can shed some light on this it wuld be good. As i cant find a thread for this model regarding cambelt and waterpump change.

It's 8 years or every 100000 miles whichever comes first.

Eh? You have to replace the timing belt/chain on every engine at some point. The recommended interval for the 1.6 is 8 years or 100k. Most engines are around this interval.
