Engine Wiring Harness replacement

Featured Replies

Two weeks ago my engine light came on in my mk4 focus (delivered in may, 3500 miles) and was going into limp so I took to my Ford dealer and they said it was a VCT solenoid. After half an hour of driving it out the dealership the engine light came on and it went back in to limp. I took it the dealer the next day and two days later they rang and told me it needs a engine wiring harness replacement and this will be weeks as the part comes from Germany (brexit, and Germany going on lockdown). As I am under 21 they can’t give me a hire car or one of their cars due to insurance. I have checked with my insurance and it will be £100 to insure me on the Ford dealers car for one week. I have spoke to the selling dealer who said it’s nothing to do with them and they can’t offer any goodwill. Got the same message from the fixing dealer. Spoke to Ford credit and they said it’ll take 5 working days for an answer on whether we can get goodwill to help pay for insurance, but the guy was really unhelpful. We’ve had the car for just over 7 months so I am unsure if we can reject it. What can we do?
