Typre Pressure System Malfunction (Mk3)

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I've got a MK3 2012 1.6 Focus. The problem i have is intermittent but 90% of the time will happen during a drive. Randomly the warning chime rings out and a message saying 'tyre pressure system malfunction', then the following lights come on low tyre pressure light, abs and traction control. When I stop it a warning appears saying the hill brake assist is disabled. Sometimes I know it is about to happen as as it feels a bit rough with a vibration under the accelerator and an audible noise but all ok once the warning lights appear. On some occasions the warning lights go out after coming on as if there is no problem.

I have done a check with Forscan and the only error showing is the right rear ABS sensor, have checked and does appear to look ok but ordered a new one to test out.

Has anyone else experienced this before or aware of what the possible cause could be?

Thanks

It will probably be the right rear sensor. Or check further up the wiring harness to the next connector for corrosion/ water ingress.
