Focus mk 2 face-lift xenon lights

Featured Replies

Hi, anybody know if I can swop the xenon lights over to ordinary halogen? Are the wiring plugs the same? Thanks.

Its a focus mk 2 face-lift, 2008.

Why would you ever want to go from xenon to halogen?

As far as I was aware the plugs are different. The xenons are very hard to retrofit due to the self levelling motors. Id imagine it's just as difficult going the other way...

Thanks, selling it soon and one lamps beam is goosed, thought it would be a hell of a lot cheaper fitting standard lamps in rather than buying one xenon.

I doubt it would be cheaper. A pair of Osram night breakers (the best xenon lamp you can get for these) are £100.

You'd be very lucky to find a pair of reflector headlight units for that much plus you'd have to mess around with wiring looms, dash switch etc.

Unless you were meaning install a halogen lamp into your current headlight unit? No you can't really do that as the ballasts are providing significantly more power to the plug (xenons use around 35w) so would blow up any halogen lamp instantly.

Hi, was hoping to just get two second hand units which are really cheap, might have to go for a xenon instead, thanks anyway.
