Hi I have a ford smax 2007 2.0 tdci it's not been started for over weeks now I tried starting it but immobiliser fault popped up on screen tried jump starting but no joy, are there any recommendations please. Thank you

Hi Shane, got the same issue on a 2007 Galaxy DTCI, had it into the garage a couple of weeks ago, they cleaned up all the earthing straps and leads, put it on a diagnostics machine, but didn't seen any faults, they pointed to a possible sluggish starter motor, but that wouldn't be the case if they jump start it with a second battery, any how they got it started and returned the car. Just been out to take car for drive and have same issue again. I have looked on YouTube and seen videos pointing to either bad earth, broken wires or ingress of water into the ECU. Have changed the battery this week, so it's not that!!

I think it could still be ECU, but don't have a means to test it so looks like it will have to go in to Ford 😪, not looking forward to that expense.

Sorry I can't provide a solution, but if you can take a look at all earth leads to the chassis and make sure no wires have broken or look like they have been rubbing.

I'll update this message after I speak to Ford this week
