Featured Replies

hi i have 2.5t s max 07 reg checked my oil today [ i check it weekly} noticed creamy substance on oil filler cap water is ok oil is ok do these engines suffer with condensation or is it oil cooler thats going or head gasket car still drives fine dont open it up till engine warm my journey to work is 10 min on dual carrigeway little bit town traffic on way home at 3am in morning take it on longer route home so as warms up properly

when i get to work car has just warmed up

any advise would be appreciated before consult garage thanks

Still sounds as though the engine is no hot enough when you get to work, there could be a few reasons for that, my car needs at least an 8 mile journey I used to use a rad muff when going to work.

As above really, sounds like it's not getting hot enough.

Clean the cap and take a long route to work and check again. Also check the dipstick for any gunk too, if it's down there too then it could potentially be more serious.

ok thanks took it on 40 minute run home this morning on dual carrageway

no gunk on dipstick will take longer route to work

thanks for your time

I’ve been through various Fords in the past that have all done the same must be a Ford thing need to get the Mrs a job further away 😀

Recently I’ve acquired a Mk2 Ford Ka as a runabout and that’s doing the same but a good run now and again keeps it happy for awhile.
