MK2 (2006) 6000 CD Radio.

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I am new to the Forum got a little help from CarSpyTV Channel from YouTube.

I would like to know more about the volume on my headset (the 6000CD Radio) is normal for it not to work?

I use the one under the steering wheel but i need to set the time and date on it.

Could anyone point me to a solution?

Not sure I fully understand your question, but the time on my 6000CD is automatically set by the receiving of any FM station. It will sync to the broadcast signal, I've never had to set the time, even when clocks move forward/back...

Mine could be a blown fuse then? Would you know the exact fuse for it?

So, are you saying that there is NO power getting to your head unit and the display is off?

On the Focus MK2/MK2.5 the date and time are stored inside the instrument cluster. The radio is just an interface to set/change and show the date and time.

If the date/time is lost everytime the ignition is switched off there will be a problem with the instrument cluster.

It turns on but the knob's turn does not affect the volume, i only use the part below the indicators.

I never knew that, as on previous cars, have always thought date/time was synced from the RDS signal...

If it turns on, it's not a fuse... Sounds like a faulty head unit. You can pick up a replacement one on Ebay for £20, make sure it comes with the code!

If it's a standard YouTube, simply insert the URL, it will automatically embed in the post.

Eureka!

In my opinion, that indicates a faulty head unit (unless someone else chips in with another reason for the volume control not working). Like I said, you can pick up a cheap replacement on Ebay for about £20 with code. Make sure all buttons are the same, some do not have the AUX button you have.

My plan is to change it to a touch screen but thought i should enjoy it before i change it.

Thank you.
